Paris – France: Aqua House Group showing its competence in building floating structures again!
Amsterdam based concept developer Studio Noach was awarded during the prestigious ‘Les Respirations’ congress in Enghien les Bains, just outside Paris last Friday. A bronze ‘Oxygen Award’ was presented to Studio Noach founder Michel Kreuger by Wynecta Fisher, Director for Environmental issues and urban planning for the city of New Orleans.
Professor Ian Fells of the international jury highly appreciated the exceptional sustainable and environmental qualities of Studio Noach’s concept named ‘Green Floating’. A full concept for living on water on a foundation of recycled polystyrene waste (ultimate composite building material / Green RexWall ^TM), in combination with a high tech sustainable climate system and an ecological and botanical coating of plants and flowers. This formula offers offers a remarkable contribution in solving some of the major environmental issues of our time.

Earlier this year “Green Floating’ architect Anne Holtrop received the 2008 Charlotte Köhler Prize for Architecture on behalf of the Prince Bernhard Cultural Foundation of the Netherlands.

‘Les Respirations’ is supported by the French Ministry of Environmental Affairs and The European Committee for sustainable Energy.

Q3/2008 Article III GREEN RexWall Consortium: Since 2000, about thirty floating homes have been built out RexWall, a composite fiberglass panel; we have shown a few of them on TreeHugger. Now Michel Kreuger of Amsterdam's Studio Noach has put together a team with Kohler Prize winning architect Anne Holtrop. and Le MurVegetal inventor Patrick Blanc to build the ultimate floating home that is green in so many ways. The clincher: the RexWall panel is made of recycled polystyrene hamburger clamshells, coffee cups and packing material. Kreuger calls it "the sustainable solution to packaging pollution."
